    Wrong way pursuit takes place in Traill County

    NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — A Missouri man has been arrested after a pursuit on the evening of Saturday, July 27, in which he drove on the wrong side of I-29 in Traill County.

    According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 9:15 p.m., the Traill County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound roadway on I-29. Officers pursued the car for roughly 12 miles before the driver pulled into the median near M88 in Cass County and stopped.

    The driver of the vehicle — a 34-year-old man from Lees Summit, Missouri — was arrested for Driving Under the Influence with minors present and reckless endangerment. He was also cited for driving without liability insurance, open container, driving the wrong way, and registration violations, as well as pending charges in Traill County.

    Two juvenile children were also present in the stopped vehicle at the time of the incident. Neither was harmed during the pursuit.
