Mass. tweaks emergency shelter system; migrants won't have priority
Massachusetts, facing an unsustainable level of homelessness, is changing its emergency shelter system, the Healey administration announced Tuesday. HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A Chicopee man is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder charges Tuesday morning. Luis Rodriguez, 19, was arrested on July 9 after 38-year-old Dexter Ortiz of Holyoke was shot on West Street. When officers arrived, they found Ortiz shot and two other people with non-life threatening injuries. All of them were taken to Baystate Medical Center, but Ortiz later died.
