LEESBURG, Va. (DC News Now) — Loudoun United midfielder Tommy Williamson has been nominated for goal of the week in the United Soccer League.

Williamson connected on a free kick in extra time of the club’s 4-1 win over Miami FC Saturday evening. The strike would go upper-left corner of the goal and off the post before finding the back of the net.

It is Williamson’s first goal of the season, and it helped Loudoun United improve their record to 8 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses as the team is now in 6th place in the Eastern Conference.

Williamson and the rest of Loudoun United are back in action this weekend as they go on the road to meet up with Oakland Roots FC Saturday evening. Kickoff is set for 10pm.
