ADM Softball Starts State Tourney Today Against Fort Dodge
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team gears up for their first postseason game of the 2024 season today in Fort Dodge. The Tigers will be battling versus the host school of the Fort Dodge Dodgers this afternoon at 5:15pm. This will be the sixth meeting between these teams as the Dodgers has taken all five previously. Last year, ADM fell 8-3 to Fort Dodge in the Class 4A Quarterfinal game. Before that, the Tigers took on the Dodgers in 2021, 2020, then two games in 2012.

Dallas Center – Grimes softball will be looking to begin an exciting week of softball today when they compete in the 4A state tournament in Fort Dodge. This 4A quarterfinal will find the two seed Mustangs against the seven seed Carlisle Wildcats. DCG is 32-8 on the season while Carlisle is 34-8.

The Pleasantville baseball team will face Chariton in the opening round of the Class 2A state baseball tournament in Fort Dodge on Tuesday. The Chargers last made the state tournament in 2013 and are 24-4 this season. Chariton is riding a 19 game win streak coming into their contest against Pleasantville with their last loss coming on June 3rd against Knoxville. As a team, the Chargers average eight runs a game on offense and have a team batting average of .330. On defense, Chariton gives up an average of 3.2 runs per game and carries an opponent batting average of .187.
A Look at Williamsburg, PCM’s State Tournament Opponent
PCM will face Williamsburg in the opening round of the State Softball Tournament in Fort Dodge on Monday. The Raiders are 30-12 on the season and the #2 overall seed in Class 3A. Williamsburg averages 6.8 runs per game on offense and gives up 3.5 runs on defense. Junior Taylor Pitlick is leading the Raiders offensive this year with a .358 batting average and has 48 hits on the season. Sophomore Jersey Metz has carried a lot of the workload on the mound this year for the Raiders with 21 wins and a 2.62 ERA. Williamsburg has a .334 team batting average and has a remarkable 223 stolen bases as a team this year.
