    Lehigh Country Club getting new bridge

    Lehigh Country Club is getting a new bridge spanning the Little Lehigh Creek at hole number 7.

    Jerdon Construction managed the project aimed at improving the appearance and function at the golf course.

    Work included demolishing the old bridge, which had a center pier.

    The new bridge is an 85-foot clear-span steel truss structure with a concreate deck.

    Jerdon said that by removing the center pier the new bridge will enhance water flow and eliminate debris and silt buildup in the middle of the stream.

    The bridge will also sit higher above the water at normal depths to provide better passage for those kayaking or fishing in the Little Lehigh.
