Julian De Flandres, a 37-year-old Upper West Side software developer, was chatting with a friend on a bench near Wollman Rink in Central Park when he was robbed at knifepoint around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 1 by a mob of as many as 20 teens and children — some as young as 8.

Flash floods are no joke, and this time, Dolly Parton's beloved Tennessee-based theme park, Dollywood, had to suffer the consequences. On Sunday, July 28, a strong thunderstorm surprised park visitors, causing a scary flash flood. Multiple areas of the park quickly filled with water, and videos shared online by park visitors themselves show gushing canals of muddy water rising up to their ankles and, at times, their calves."Careful!" says a park visitor and a TikTok poster, visually summarizing the situation. In the video, park visitors are allegedly walking towards the exit while fast currents of water run over their feet. Towards the end, one clip shows the conditions of the parking lot, where some cars are partially submerged.
