Pashinski presents grant checks for projects in Wilkes-Barre, Bear Creek Twp.
WILKES-BARRE — Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski on Tuesday said checks he presented will be used to enhance the quality of life for the community. Pashinski, D-Wilkes-Barre, along with Sen. Marty Flynn, D-Scranton, Sen. David Argall, R-Pottsville, and Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown presented three grant checks to a local arts center and to Bear Creek Township.

Major artery between Wilkes-Barre city/township closing Aug. 7
A major connector between the City of Wilkes-Barre and Wilkes-Barre Twp. will be closed for about a week for a road project starting next Wednesday. The project consists of replacing an existing pipe culvert carrying the Branch Spring Run Creek under East Northampton Street near the state Route 309 overpass in the Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre Twp., Jessica Ruddy, community relations coordinator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's District 4 Engineering Office, said in an email.
