Pocono announces stable area detour
Wilkes-Barre, PA — On Aug. 7, 8 and 9 there will be paving on the hill entrance to the Pocono stable area. On those race days to go to the paddock area, use the casino main entrance off Highway 315. Follow the roadway completely around the perimeter of the parking areas. When you reach the big power plant building turn left to proceed down the hill to reach the paddock parking area.
Body found in woodlands near Hazleton Area High School
HAZLE TOWNSHIP – State Police are investigating after a body was found in woodlands north of the Hazleton Area High School earlier this week. According to the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, troopers from the Hazleton barracks received several tips and patrolled the woodlands between the high school on 23rd Street and Hazle Township Boulevard to the north.
Dangerous fire investigated in Benton
Benton, Pa. — An investigation into a Benton fire led to charges being filed against a local man who admitted to setting it intentionally, police said.
