UPDATED: Mayor Brown says Wilkes-Barre will clear Kirby Park homeless camps this week
At least 10 people without homes have been camping in the riverfront area of Kirby Park, including extremely vulnerable individuals, Mayor George Brown said. "We had an elderly woman. And we also had a young lady who is going to have a baby," Brown said Monday. "And we found them shelter."
FNCB Bank Announces 2024 Scholarship Winners
FNCB Bank, a division of Peoples Security Bank and Trust Co., is pleased to announce the winners of the FNCB Bank Foundation merit scholarship awards for the 2024-2025 academic year. Geisinger Marworth to Host Fun Run
Geisinger Marworth Treatment Center will host a Recovery Fun Run at 10 a.m. Sept. 8 on the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. Runners or walkers can register for a 5k run or a 1-mile walk to benefit the Geisinger Marworth Therapeutic Activities Fund. The fund supports healthy, sober activities for patients after discharge, to help them stay in recovery.
