DALLAS, Pa. — Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Friedman Art Gallery is hosting a new solo exhibition by artist Seth Ellison entitled “Lost in Paradise.” The exhibit, which will feature a variety of Ellison’s paintings, runs from Sunday, Aug. 18, through Tuesday, Oct. 29, and is free and open to the public weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Friedman Art Gallery is located inside the campus’ Nesbitt Academic Commons.

Nonprofit provides free flights for medical patients
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — This isn't the first time Michelle LaBar has strapped herself onto a jet plane at Hazleton Regional Airport in Luzerne County. In fact, she has been taking free flights from Hazleton to West Virginia for the past four years thanks to Patient Airlift Services or PALS Skyhope, a nonprofit organization that provides free flights to those battling illnesses and needing to travel elsewhere for medical services.

DOVER — Santiago Rodriguez of Dover was among the nearly 70 members of The University of Scranton’s class of 2024 who participated in the Jesuit school’s Donning of the Stole Ceremony. The annual ceremony celebrates and honors the accomplishments of members of its graduating class from underrepresented identities who received their undergraduate degrees. The purpose of the ceremony, which was a student-led initiative, was to highlight the students’ success in overcoming the particular barriers and obstacles faced by students from these groups, particularly students of color, in attaining a higher education.
