Southwest new seating policy: Airline plans to start assigning seats, breaking 50-year tradition
DALLAS -- Southwest Airlines plans to drop its tradition of more than 50 years and start assigning seats and selling premium seating for customers who want more legroom. The airline said Thursday that it has been studying seating options and is making the changes because passenger preferences have shifted. The moves could also generate revenue and boost financial performance.
Child suffers minor injuries in fall at Glen
WAVERLY — A five-year-old Waverly boy was fortunate to suffer only minor injuries Thursday after a fall near the waterfall at Waverly Glen Park. According to Waverly Police, at 10:44 a.m. officers responded to a report of a child who had fallen 30 feet from the area of the waterfall at the park. Also responded to the scene were personnel from the Waverly-Barton Fire District and Greater Valley EMS.

Residents of the Lake Harmony community were encouraged to support the Lake Harmony Volunteer Fire Company as its personnel continues to improve upon emergency capabilities. This was the message conveyed by A.J. Heightman, executive director of the Eastern Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services Council during the formal dedication of the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad and Ambulance Corps’ newest equipment, a 1986 Excellence Golden Eagle Type III ambulance and a 1974 GMC rescue truck.
