Unityville man accused of shoving woman to floor, bruising her
A domestic disturbance at his Jordan Township home landed David Lunger behind bars in the Lycoming County Prison, according to the state police. A verbal argument with his girlfriend over cigarettes and an air conditioner turned physical when Lunger, 47, of 564 Hall Road, Unityville, grabbed hold of the woman’s arms, causing bruising, police alleged. He then shoved her “by pushing her neck region,” resulting in her striking her right elbow and the back of her head on the floor, the woman told a trooper. Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle on charges of simple assault and harassment, Lunger was incarcerated, but he has since been released on $5,000 bail.

Citizenship award
Weatherly Mayor Paul Hadzick presented three youngsters with Citizenship Certificates for their interest and concern in improvements and activities at Eurana Park this year. The young people showed up every day to watch the progress, and will receive, in addition to the certificates, an American flag pin and gift certificate for ice cream. Weatherly proposes exotic animal ordinance
Weatherly Borough Council will advertise an amended ordinance restricting wild, exotic and farm animals, but stopped short of ruffling the feathers of chicken owners.
