Ottawa's Friendship Days Rolls On
The summer festival formerly known as “Riverfest” continues thru the weekend with plenty of food, music, and drinks. “Friendship Days” features sidewalk sales and a Kids' Fishing Rodeo on Thursday's schedule. The sales are all day while the fishing rodeo starts at 5 where the Fox and Illinois Rivers met in downtown Ottawa.
Longtime Downtown Mendota Bar And Grill Is Closing
A staple of downtown Mendota for more than 3 decades is soon to be closing its doors. Owners Dave and Joanne McNally announced that they will be closing Main Street Station Bar & Grill after Saturday, August 24th. The announcement says “A lot of thought has been put into this decision and it was not an easy choice to make”. The owners say they're looking forward to having a chance to travel and enjoy time with their family.

Paw Paw Poker Run nets proceeds for garden club
PAW PAW – It was a beautiful day for neighbors to gather. Thirty-six people participated in the Second Annual Paw Paw Community Poker Run. Using feet, motor bikes, bicycles, golf carts, lawnmowers, and one-wheelers, they traversed the five-station course, from the village's eastern boundary to the baseball field, hoping to collect five favorable cards.
