Illinois Moves to (2-0) in Pool Play at Little League Senior Softball World Series
The Illinois team based out of Beardstown that is taking part in the Little League Senior Softball World Series in Roxana, Delaware this week moved to (2-0) in pool play with a 3-1 win over the team representing the Southeast part of the US, based out of South Carolina. It was Illinois lowest run-output of the postseason so far. Before Tuesday’s game, Illinois had outscored their opponents 49-5 in the postseason.

14-year-old robbed CTA passenger at gunpoint, police say
CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy was part of a group that robbed a CTA passenger at gunpoint earlier this summer, police said Thursday. The robbery occurred around 11:10 p.m. on June 25. Police said the 14-year-old and two other males who remain at large followed a 33-year-old man from a Red Line train at Sox-35th.
