San Diego Humane Society Takes in 50 Animals From Local Residence
Humane Society workers Saturday were bathing and vaccinating dozens of pets after authorities relocated 50 animals from a San Diego County residence. “Our Humane Officers transported 48 cats and two dogs to our campuses for care. Upon intake, each cat and dog were given flea treatment and vaccinations before being placed in appropriate housing,” the San Diego Humane Society said in a statement.

The year of closures continues to roll on. Ever since the calendar has turned to 2024, it seems like it has been bad news for once-popular businesses and food chains. Many have announced that they have filed for bankruptcy in some form or fashion, with plenty also having announced the closures of locations across the country. In some severe cases, some companies have called it quits and closed their doors altogether. Ten years from now, this year will likely be remembered as the year that saw the downfall of some of the most successful retail stores and food chains once upon a time. There is another company to add to the list that is set to have mass closures, and once again California will be feeling the effect as much, if not more than everyone else.

This past June, after a decade in business, Hello Betty Fish House ended its run on the base floor of SpringHill Suites in downtown Oceanside. The hotel and restaurant space has been taken over by Oram Holdings, a family-owned hotel management company operated by Oceanside-natives Alvin and Kevin Mansour. The brothers also own and operate The Guild Hotel in Downtown San Diego and the incoming Granger Hotel Gaslamp Quarter, and their family has operated many business in North County, including the Haunted Head Saloon on North Tremont Street.
