LCM (50m) Results on MeetMobile (“2024 CZ North Section Summer Sectionals”) The final day of the 2024 Summer Sectionals meet in Westmont, IL so more great racing. The men’s 1500 free went to Aquajets Swim Team 17-year-old Jiarui Xue, who finished in 15:57.10. Xue, a Princeton recruit, has been quite a bit faster, holding a personal best of 15:38.14, which he swam at the NCSA Championships in March. Ozaukee Aquatics 14-year-old Grant Freeze had a fantastic swim for 4th in the mile, clocking a 16:13.24, which marks a new personal best by nearly 24 seconds.

67 Chargers Earn Academic All-Region 4 for Spring Semester
Sixty-seven Sandburg student-athletes earned Academic All-NJCAA Region 4 honors for the 2024 spring semester. Honorees had to achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average and pass a minimum of 12 credit hours to earn the distinction. Among Sandburg’s recipients, 44 had a GPA of 3.50 or better. Nineteen Chargers had a perfect 4.0 GPA, and each Sandburg team was represented within that group of student-athletes with an unblemished GPA.

Charity Golf Outing for The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn
The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn is hosting a charity golf invitational at the Hickory Hills Country Club on Thursday, August 15. The board secretary for The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn, Ian Chafee, spoke about the facility at 5100 Museum Drive. He said, “We are aligned with the state standards for education, and Our sweet spot is kids eight and under.” He added, “We focus mostly on little guys zero to three. It is a place where they can play with their parents and learn to socialize.”

LCM (50m) Results on MeetMobile (“2024 CZ North Section Summer Sectionals”) Day 3 of the 2024 Summer Sectionals meet in Westmont saw 15-year-old Rachel Ritter out of Sioux Falls Swim Team win the women’s 200 back in 2:15.74. The swim marked a personal best for the youngster, coming in under her previous best of 2:16.30. She was out fast, splitting 31.68 on the first 50, then split 34.90, 35.00, and 34.16 respectively the rest of the way.
Knight Monsters sign Dodero, Robbins
STATELINE, Nev. – The Tahoe Knight Monsters announced that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Chris Dodero and Adam Robbins for the 2024-25 season. Dodero, 28, joins the Knight Monsters after playing the past two seasons overseas in Austria and Germany. Last season, Dodero posted 22 points (10g-12a) in 28 games with the Rosenheim Star Bulls (DEL-2), while also logging two assists in eight games with Austria’s Graz HC. He played the 2022-23 season in Austria as well with Ljubijana Olimpija HK, recording 30 points (10g-20a) in 39 contests. Prior to his professional career, the Bloomingdale, Illinois resident also played five collegiate seasons at American International College totaling 71 points (26g-45a) in 134 games.
