City of Peru will host Ollie's Retail Store
Besides a Princeton warehouse, Ollies Bargain Outlet, Inc. will have a retail presence in Peru. Mayor Ken Kolowski confirmed to 103-9 WLPO, that an Ollie's could open on the west end of the 36th street strip mall by year's end. After Princeton got an Ollie's Warehouse, Kolowski went after an Ollie's Retail. Kolowski said it took 18 months of pitching different retail spaces before Ollie's said “yes”:
Red Barn Golf Course posts warning for golfers
ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) - Red Barn Golf Course posts a sign at its driving range warning golfers of a new zero-tolerance policy. As of July 12, Red Barn Golf Course issues the statement above for those on the driving range. The “zero tolerance” policy comes after the village of Rockton asked for balls to stop hitting the nearby Summit Condos.
Dane Co. Farmer’s Market moves off the square for the weekend
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Dane County Farmer’s Market was held at Breese Stevens Field Saturday instead of its usual spot around the capitol. This happens once a year when the “Art Fair On the Square” comes to town and takes its place for the weekend. U.S. Coast Guard Reopens Mississippi River To Boaters, Still Recommends Staying Off The Water
The United States Coast Guard has changed its stance and is now allowing recreational boating on the Mississippi River, but still recommends boaters stay off the water. In their most recent update, the Coast Guard changed from prohibiting to now Strongly Discouraging boating on river in the Dubuque pool and all others still experiencing flooding conditions. In a message on the Coast Guard social media, they say after speaking to port partners and government agencies along the river, they are no longer prohibiting recreational boating in the pools in the High Water Action Phase at this time however recreational boating is now strongly discouraged.

UTV Accident In SW Wisconsin Injures Illinois Woman
An Illinois woman suffered minor injuries in an UTV accident in southwest Wisconsin. The Layfayette County Sheriff says the accident happened just after 5 o’clock yesterday on a trail in Willow Springs Township. Authorities say the UTV operated by 64-year old Tammy Johnson of Cambridge, Illinois struck a fence crossing due to poor visibility, and overturned. Johnson was not injured, however a passenger 53-year old Rachel Streeter of Lynn Center, Illinois suffered injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Darlington for treatment.
