Penn State Berks 2024 alumna Angela Bonopane earned the Best Undergraduate Research Paper Award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Criminal Justice Educators (PACJE) — a statewide organization of faculty, practitioners and students in criminal justice. She also received the PACJE Bernie Meyer Student Scholarship and presented her research at the conference.

49 local players selected to All-State Softball Team
On Friday morning, the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association Committee released its 2024 All-State team. 49 local players earned statewide honors. DuBois Central Catholic pitcher Rylee Kulbatsky won pitcher of the year for Class 1A. Five Cardinals were selected after they won the PIAA Class 1A softball championship in June.

Three YAIAA players were named to Class 5A all-state teams it was announced on Friday. South Western's Jayda Koontz and Kinsley Proepper were named to the first team and Dover's Kendall Noel was named to the second team by the Pa. High School Softball Coaches Association.
