Waterford mom and her two sons killed after SUV flips into Lapeer creek
PONTIAC, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Waterford mother and her two sons were killed Saturday night in a single vehicle crash after the 32-year-old lost control. Officials say Jenée Suddeth, 32, was traveling in Lapeer's Elba Township with her two sons, 9-year-old Nikko and 12-year-old Mateo. It is believed that Suddeth tried to pass a slower moving car when she lost control. The car hit a guard rail and flipped, landing in a nearby creek.

St. Augustine Catholic Church is on the go with golfing, a cruise-in and cornhole this summer, as the church’s annual Parish Festival returns to Richmond Aug. 8 to 11. Festival Chairperson Valerie Oehmke said via email on July 5 that the St. Augustine Parish Festival remains the church’s largest fundraiser of the year. Although there is no cost to attend the festival as a whole, proceeds raised from individual activities at the festival benefit the church.

The CATCH Golf Classic took place at Red Run Golf Club, featuring live broadcasts of WJR‘s “All Talk with Jordan and Dietz” and “SportsWrap.” The golf classic featured a scramble format with the option of a celebrity golfer in each group, with sponsorships ranging from $3,500 to $35,000.

CertiPUR-US Executive Director to Retire
Michael Crowell, who has served as CertiPUR-US executive director for the past 10 years, will retire by the end of the year. Under Crowell’s decade of leadership, the Rochester Hills, Michigan-based CertiPUR-US foam certification program participation has expanded from 29 foam producers in five countries to more than 100 foam producers in 17 countries, now encompassing much of the foam supplied to the U.S. bedding and upholstered furniture markets. Crowell has played a key role in transforming the flexible polyurethane foam, bedding and furniture industries to make foam products used in the home safer and more sustainable. In May, the Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam’s board of directors honored Crowell with the CertiPUR-US program’s Outstanding Leadership Award.
