Oakland Town Hall to present 2024-2025 speaker series in Bloomfield Hills
Oakland Town Hall announces their 2024-2025 lecture series to be held at the Iroquois Club, 43248 Woodward Ave., Bloomfield Hills, to begin their 65th year. Due to the fact there is limited seating of 160, only season reservations will be accepted. Once all reservations are filled there will be a waiting list for those who wish to purchase individual Lecture & Luncheon reservations and will be honored if space becomes available. For registration information, call Nancy Holan at 248-673-5984. When the registration brochure is received, send in the registration form with a check made out to Oakland Town Hall accompanied by a stamped self-addressed envelope which will be used to confirm your admission or inform you that you have been placed on a waiting list.
‘Shrek the Musical Jr.’ carries the message of acceptance
Stagecrafters Youth Theatre is gearing up to present “Shrek the Musical Jr.” at the Baldwin Theatre in downtown Royal Oak from July 19-28. “Shrek the Musical Jr.” is based on the DreamWorks Animation film and the book by William Steig. It tells the tale of an unlikely hero, Shrek, an ogre who’s a bit grumpy, but lovable. He finds himself on the unlikely mission of rescuing Princess Fiona, and themes of friendship, bravery and self-acceptance abound.

Normandy Institute Fellowship grantees traveled to France to deliver a eulogy for U.S. Navy seaman Auvergne Breault. Breault was just 20 years old when he died during the allied forces invasion of Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944, known as D-Day.

Trial underway for Auburn Hills hotel homicide case
Trial is underway in Oakland County Circuit Court for a Pontiac man accused of killing a man at an Auburn Hills hotel late last year. The jury was seated and the trial began Monday in the case against Malcolm Otis Draper, 25. Draper is charged with murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony for the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Anthony Russell Holcomb on Dec. 2, 2023 at the Suburban Studios extended stay hotel on Doris Road where Holcomb reportedly had been living.
