Kaelen Culpepper's selection highlighted a historic MLB Draft for Kansas State baseball
Kaelen Culpepper achieved a Kansas State baseball first during last week's 2024 Major League Baseball Draft, and so did the Wildcats as a team. Culpepper, the Wildcats' junior shortstop, became the school's first-ever position player to be selected in the first round when he went to the Minnesota Twins with the No. 21 overall pick. The only previous K-State first-rounder was current Major League pitcher Jordan Wicks, who also went at No. 21, to the Chicago Cubs in 2021.

No injuries reported following early morning structure fire at Ackert Hall
A fire broke out earlier this morning at Ackert Hall early on Monday on the campus of Kansas State University. Manhattan Fire Department crews responded to the structure fire and were able to extinguish it within ten minutes. Claflin Road was shut down for nearly an hour but ultimately reopened with no issues.

County approves motion to resolve EMS Service fees issue
The Geary County Commission has approved a motion to accept a Junction City Commission offer for EMS and Ambulance fees. Commissioner Keith Ascher noted that the City has proposed $145,000 per month for 2024 fees. "My motion said up to $145,000 per month. I feel like that we met in the middle and that's what the goal was all along." The up to portion of the motion is based on bills received from the City.
