HOCKLEY COUNTY, Texas — The Federal Emergency Management Agency will open a Disaster Recovery Center in Levelland on Monday morning, according to a press release from FEMA.

Investigation underway for Ruidoso fires, reward offered for information

The press release said the center will provide “one-on-one help to Texans affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding and straight-line winds.”

The center will be located at the Levelland Civic Center at 1900 McKinley Street.

‘Full-time’ Ruidoso residents able to return Monday morning, officials say

All centers are accessible to people with disabilities and offer assistive technology as well as a sign language interpreter.

The community of Levelland suffered severe damage from straight-line winds that hit the town overnight on Wednesday, May 29. The winds reached speeds between 100 mph and 120 mph.
