Third annual substance use addiction summit offers hope to survivors, support for families of those who’ve been lost
ESSEX JUNCTION — Over a dozen speakers addressed a crowd of hundreds Friday in the name of healing, at the third annual “Coming Together” Substance Use Addiction Summit. This coming together of folks from all different walks of life saw speakers and stakeholders representing a whole slew of supporting organizations all invested in the pursuit of a common cause: decreasing stigmas and making viable recovery pathways possible and accessible to all.

ESSEX JUNCTION — The Essex Junction Community Vision & Strategic Action Plan is one step further after City Council approved the 32-page report July 17. City communications and strategic initiatives director Ashley Snellenberger joined the meeting to discuss updates to the project, which aims to imagine the future of Essex Junction and to provide achievable targets in the next five years for city growth and development.

Harbour Thread sits inside a 2,447-square-foot retail space in the Grand Central District at 40 22nd St. S. Owner Llyndara Harbour said the brand originally started as a footwear boutique – in Burlington – more than 20 years ago.
Man arrested following domestic violence shooting in Richmond, Vermont
RICHMOND, Vt. — A man was arrested on Friday afternoon at a home in Richmond after a shooting led to an hours-long standoff with police. Vermont State Police arrested 23-year-old Dylan Davis at 2:15 p.m. after an incident on Meadow Lane. Police said Davis is now facing charges of aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon, domestic assault and reckless endangerment.
