Lewisboro residents addressed their concerns about a green-energy provider program at a town board meeting on Monday. They talked about a contract with Sustainable Westchester, a municipality-led shared service provider that delivers climate solutions to the people of Westchester, according to their website. News 12 has learned that they have a program called Westchester Power. Some residents said the entire town was enrolled in the program on an opt-out basis-- meaning that all residents were automatically enrolled, whether they were aware of it or not. While some residents said that they believed this is a good measure, other residents said the move is unreasonable. "You should not be forced into a program. This is a choice. This is America. We get a choice in what we want for ourselves," one woman said. Meanwhile, another resident had a differing opinion. "This board hears comments from adults whose lives won't be severely impacted [by climate change], but I've talked to a lot of young people in town about this and without exception they are all deeply afraid of their future with climate change and they are begging us to do whatever we can to fight for them." News 12 was issued a statement about the discussion from the town supervisor that said they don't meet the criteria to legally terminate the contract. "
