Aces split doubleheader with Chiefs
A doubleheader between the Owatonna Aces and Winona Chiefs brought sunny skies and plenty of thrilling moments to Steele County last weekend. Both teams slugged it out over the course of two seven-inning games and finished 1-1 with the Aces taking the first game and the Chiefs holding off the home squad in the second.

Gymnastic stars from around the country gathered in Minneapolis last week to compete for a spot on the U.S.’s 2024 Summer Olympics gymnastics team. Winona Post columnist Michael Marek was excited to cover the national competition and looks forward to traveling abroad to cover the international Paris Olympic Games while representing one of the smallest publications credentialed for it.
Local Legion Baseball Update, Rushford Post 94 and Winona Lejetz Sit One Month from Legion State Tournament
(KWMN)-Legion baseball teams around the area are well into their summer schedules, with the Legion State tournament coming up at the end of this month and into August. The Post 94 senior team is comprised of most of the players on last year’s junior team that made it all the way to the State legion tournament. They sit at 3-5 on the season, with three games next week.
