RANSOMVILLE, NY – Dave Conant from Niagara Falls, NY was victorious in the 2nd Annual Kyle Inman Tribute race for the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman at the Ransomville Speedway Friday night. Ryan Susice from Wilson, NY scored a very emotional win in the Krown Undercoating 358 Modified feature. Nigel Pendykoski from Niagara Falls, Ontario won the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman feature. Cole Susice from Ransomville, NY won his third Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks feature of the season. Gilmour girls lacrosse: Makenna Crouse to continue her career at Canisius
Makenna Crouse took a chance when she stepped onto the lacrosse field for Gilmour as a senior this past spring. But the New York native needed little time to turn heads. In her first game against West Geauga, she recorded five goals and created 19 ground balls. Crouse finished the season with 90 goals, 25 assists, 143 ground balls, 40 takeaways and 158 draw control wins.

Owl trapped in manure lagoon is rescued
ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — A baby screech owl was rescued earlier this week in Cheektowaga after it left its home before it was ready. Now comes another owl rescue, which also happened in Erie County. An owl that was trapped in a manure lagoon was rescued with help from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Messinger Woods Wildlife Care and Education Center.
