    Several Lexington grocery stores will close early for Fourth of July. See holiday hours

    Get your grill warmed up, the Fourth of July has arrived .

    Those who need to run out for a last-minute cookout ingredient, or simply haven’t made it to the pharmacy yet, should know some Lexington grocery stores will close early for the holiday.

    Federal government offices, along with many state and local agencies and banks, will be closed Thursday to observe Independence Day. The U.S. Postal Service will also be closed, along with United Parcel Service and FedEx, which advertises modified services Friday, July 5.

    Here’s a rundown of some Lexington-area grocery and liquor store locations along with their Fourth of July hours for this year.

    Lexington stores closed or closing early on Independence Day

    The Aldi grocery stores in Lexington, including the one at 126 Rojay Drive and 1509 Colesbury Circle, will close early July 4, with holiday hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Popular stop Trader Joe’s will close early Thursday for the Fourth of July , at 5 p.m. You can visit the Lexington store at 2326 Nicholasville Road.

    Bulk warehouse retailer Costco Wholesale , located in Lexington at 1500 Fitzgerald Court, will close entirely Thursday to observe the Fourth of July . It reopens at 10 a.m. Friday.

    Lexington’s other bulk retailer, Sam’s Club , at 1063 New Circle Road, will be open Thursday but close early , according to its website. Hours for the membership-only retailer are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for others.

    Fayette County stores open normal hours for Independence Day

    Target stores will be open for the Fourth of July this year, including three locations in Lexington , which open at 8 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.

    Despite the Independence Day holiday, Kroger grocery stores will operate normal business hours Thursday. Lexington has multiple locations, so check your favorite store for specific openings. Pharmacy hours may vary.

    At 455-D Southland Drive, Good Foods Co-op will operate normal business hours Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    Save A Lot stores, like the one at 1235 N. Broadway in Lexington, will have regular hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m .

    Amazon-owned Whole Foods Market , located in Lexington at 4059 Finn Way, will be open for the Fourth of July , the company’s corporate website advertises.

    Walmart locations, including those in Lexington, operate normal business hours Thursday.

    Meijer , with Lexington locations at 351 Meijer Way and 2155 Paul Jones Way, are open from 6 a.m. to midnight on Independence Day , while its pharmacies will operate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Lexington liquor store Fourth of July Hours

    Liquor Barn , with stores in Lexington, is open normal business hours Thursday. You can find your nearest location online.

    The two Lexington locations of Total Wine & More will also operate normal hours for Independence Day , 9 a.m to 10 p.m.

    For smaller liquor retailers, check with your store.
