Kentucky basketball’s recruiting big board is starting to come into a clearer focus as players begin to cut their list and plan official visits.

The nation’s No. 1-ranked prospect AJ Dybantsa cut Kentucky from his list on Friday , taking one more player off UK’s board. However, there are still nearly 20 players Kentucky is looking at in the class.

KSR+ is taking a look at Kentucky’s 2025 big board, position by position, to see where things stand. The position classifications are based on the On3 Database.

    Point Guard

Mikel Brown Jr. is the highest-ranked point guard on Kentucky’s board in 2025. He has a whole list of schools recruiting him, including Louisville, Indiana, Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss among others. Brown said Kentucky is pushing for a visit, but has yet to set a date yet.

Acaden Lewis is a player who added an offer during an unofficial visit to Kentucky earlier this summer. He’s planning to visit for an official in the fall. Lewis recently visited Syracuse and plans to visit Duke on Aug. 5.

    Shooting Guard

Kentucky recently made the top eight for five-star guard Darryn Peterson , but that will be a tough one for the Cats to reel in. Kansas is the perceived favorite for Peterson and given his Adidas connections, Kentucky has a lot of ground to make up.

Jasper Johnson is looking like a more realistic option for Kentucky. He’s down to a final five, but Kentucky, Alabama, and UNC have emerged as the three favorites. Johnson recently visited Kentucky for an unofficial and is expected to make a decision at the end of August .

Kentucky has ramped up interest in four-star guard Brayden Burries since Peach Jam. Now that he’s got an offer, a visit could come in the fall with a commitment expected in early 2025.

Tounde Yessoufou recently added an offer from Kentucky and should be visiting UK for an official visit this fall. Yessoufou is visiting Baylor on August 31 and planning trips to Kentucky, UConn, Kansas, and Tennessee. UK is expected to be the final visit as per request of the staff.

Braylon Mullins is a player Kentucky has been trending with since Peach Jam. The four-star guard will be taking an official visit to Kentucky on Oct. 25. He recently visited UConn and has trips planned to, Michigan, North Carolina, Indiana, Alabama, and Tennessee.

    Small Forward

    • Nate Ament : 6-foot-8 forward from Highland (VA) – No. 7 overall

Nate Ament is the only small forward on Kentucky’s board in 2025, however, there are other players who could be considered for that position. Players like Tounde Yessoufou, Caleb Wilson, and others have shown the ability to play the three.

As for Ament’s recruitment, Virginia and Duke were a couple of schools that have been involved since the beginning. Now, Kentucky, UConn, Kansas, UNC, and Indiana, among others have started to get in the mix. There’s a long way to go in this recruitment.

    Power Forward

    • Caleb Wilson : 6-foot-9 forward from Holy Innocents (GA) – No. 4 overall
    • Chris Cenac : 6-foot-10 forward from Link Academy (MO) – No. 14 overall
    • Nikola Bundalo : 6-foot-9 PF from Western Reserve Academy (OH) – No. 24 overall

Caleb Wilson has become a major priority for Kentucky in the 2025 class over the past month. He’s set to take an official visit to Kentucky during the weekend of Sept. 13. Other schools involved include Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and others .

Chris Cenac is a player Kentucky is starting to gain some buzz for as he’s seen his stock rise this summer. Cenac is expected to set an official visit to Kentucky in the fall. LSU and Houston have been schools mentioned with Cenac early, but Kentucky, Kansas, Arkansas, and Baylor have made up some ground.

Nikola Bundalo has spent the summer overseas in Serbia but has set some official visits. Bundalo is set to visit Michigan State, UConn, and Ohio State. Kentucky is a school that could be getting a visit.

    Center

    • Malachi Moreno : 7-foot center from Great Crossing (KY) – No. 25 overall
    • Eric Reibe : 7-foot center from The Bullis School (MD) – No. 38 overall

There are two clear names for Kentucky at the center position in 2025 – Malachi Moreno and Eric Reibe . Moreno is set to take an official visit to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness in October, while Reibe is in the process of setting up a visit.

KSR’s Jack Pilgrim reported on the KSBoard that Ketnucky will take one of the two . Reibe is expected to set visits after the Elite 24 game later this month.
