James 1:12: "Blessed is the one who preserves under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
Obstacles test our Faith.
We have the choice in difficult times to rise to the occasion or wallow in self-pity. We cannot control the variables of when life knocks us off track, but we can control our response and how we perceive the situation. With a strong faith we can hold onto hope that better days and times are coming. Faith makes us more resilient.
What we resist persists. Cave into the reality of what is happening and make lemonade from life's lemons.
Seeing Opportunity in Opposition
When we are tested, we can see opportunity rather than opposition. When we embrace the opposition, we gain strength and insight. Handling opposition is one of life's greatest tests and will reveal your character.
We must experience difficulties to learn, grow, and heal. Whether it is an injury, illness, or heartbreak, we learn through those mental and physical setbacks.
My Story of Opposition VS. Opportunity
My sweet puppy, Aspen, recently pulled on her leash excitedly after seeing a male dog down the walking path. When she went from loose leash walking into a full sprint, I had to drop the leash (she weighs as much as me), but before I released, she broke my ring finger on the dominant hand. She came back and looked apologetic, but the damage was done.
And this is life. Accidents happen in the blink of an eye.
This is my first broken bone, and it hurts! The doctor put a splint on at the hospital and advised me to follow up with a hand surgeon. What is the point of this story? The point is that I realized how difficult everything is without the use of my ring finger. I have to brush my teeth and wash my face with one hand, my non-dominant. But, I researched, and using your non-dominant hand to brush your teeth increases brain activity. So, good things come from bad situations. It is all about how we look at it and our perception.
When we are sick and recuperate, we look at the world around us with more gratitude. It is also a lesson in not taking our bodies for granted.
Final Thoughts
Sure, we may not have chosen these opposing situations, but we become better people when we embrace them and release resistance by having Faith in the process.
It may seem counterintuitive, but we must experience difficulties to grow, heal, and thrive.
"For every action, there is an opposite reaction." ~Issac Newton
We are energetic beings, and The Law of Attraction states that we must believe in order to achieve. When faced with extreme difficulties, visualize what you want to attract. Write it down, and the universe will conspire to make that happen. The key is making sure your thoughts, words, actions, and choices are in alignment with all that you desire.
When we focus on love, abundance, and wellness, we attract those things. Healing happens faster, and our prayers are answered.
When we focus on fear, scarcity, break-ups, and health crises, we attract more of those things, and healing is delayed as a result.
How you view each situation is up to you. I embrace them with gratitude, compassion for myself and others, and love. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Please comment and tell me about your personal experiences with opposition or difficult times.
