RAGBRAI Rolls into Knoxville Today
After months of preparation, RAGBRAI will officially be rolling into Knoxville today. The riders will be making the 75 mile ride from Winterset over to the Sprint Car Capital of the World. The city anticipates riders to be arriving as early as noon today. Riders will be coming up from the south on Highway 14 and a majority of them will be staying at the main campground located near the Knoxville Rec Center and Knoxville High School. There will be eight total campgrounds throughout the city with shuttles taking people from the campgrounds to the downtown area.

Warren County Fair Queen Crowned
The 2024 Warren County Fair Queen has been crowned, as Maryann Hart from Martensdale-St. Mary’s High School has been chosen out of four contestants. Hart is the younger sister of the 2017 Warren County Fair Queen Haley Hart, and will now preside over numerous activities throughout this year’s fair, and will compete in the State Fair Queen competition in August. RAGBRAI Coming to Knoxville Tomorrow
RAGBRAI will be rolling into Knoxville tomorrow for an overnight stay. The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa will be leaving Winterset early Wednesday morning and will make the 75 mile trek over to Knoxville. City officials believe that most riders will be getting into town in the afternoon Wednesday, but some could arrive as early as Noon. The downtown Knoxville area will be closed off from traffic, as that is where all vendors will be located and the entertainment will take place. The only entertainment that will not be in the downtown area will be Mason Hatch from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm and Neva Alden from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm, as they will perform at Peace Tree while Hairball does their sound check.
