The 2024 “Out of Reach” report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition says that not only is Georgia the 20th highest housing wage requirement in the country, but that to afford an apartment, you may need to work as many as 3.5 full-time jobs.
Georgia Chamber Hosts Future of Small Business Summit

Around 100 people attended the Future of Small Business summit, which was held at the headquarters of Invesco.
Emory receives $5 million grant to improve geriatric care and education
Emory University has been awarded a $5 million cooperative agreement by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to enhance geriatric care and education for health care workers in Georgia’s urban and rural areas. This five-year funding will support Georgia Gear (Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program), operated through the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine.
King and Spanish Mackerel port meetings continue in South Carolina and Georgia
A series of port meetings continues in July and August, providing a unique opportunity for fishermen and others interested in the King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel fisheries to share their perspectives and vision for the future. The port meetings are being hosted by the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, and state partners along the Atlantic coast in 2024. Meetings were held in North Carolina in April, New England in May, and New York in June. “These are not public hearings,” explained Council Chair Dr. Carolyn Belcher. “These port meetings are more than public comment opportunities....

ATLANTA – Four Emory Healthcare hospitals have ranked notably in this year’s regional rankings of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals issue. For the thirteenth year in a row, Emory University Hospital ranked as the No. 1 hospital in Georgia and metro Atlanta in the 2024-25 Best Regional Hospitals rankings. (Emory University Hospital includes Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital and Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods.)
