CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Lilly man is being accused of forging and altering the checks from the Penn Cambria baseball boosters when he was president of the boosters club.

Jeramie Yeoman, 47, is facing over 70 charges and is being accused of forging and altering over 70 checks from a local baseball booster, according to a criminal complaint. On April 25, 2024, officers from the Cresson Borough Police Department were contacted by the president of the Penn Cambria baseball boosters who said they wanted to report several forgeries. In an interview with police, she showed bank statements that had forged signatures of both the current vice president and the former treasurer. Both told police that the signatures on those checks were not their own and had been forged.

The current president also related that the former president, Yeoman, has refused to turn over any books in regard to the booster program. On May 2, 2024, police met with the current and former members of the club who said their signatures were forged. Police noted that in the information that was turned over, there were several discrepancies on checks for their made payable and memo lines.

The former treasurer also told them that for several months after she was done working for the booster she would receive calls from the banks stating that the accounts were being overdrawn. She added that she reached out to Yeoman and told him that she was still receiving calls from the bank and Yeoman allegedly told her that would be discussed with the club and then her name would be removed. The members who were working at that time then told officers that Yeoman never discussed this them with, according to the affidavit.

Police then contacted 1st Summit Bank and were granted two search warrants to obtain the checks that were cashed from the two accounts for the boosters. Upon obtaining all the information police determined that 72 checks were forged or had been altered between the dates of April 2023 and July 2023, which Yeoman was president and was an authorized signer of the accounts.

According to the affidavit, seven of those checks were out to Yeoman and he deposited them to his personal accounts. Police did not specify in the complaint the amount of money that was taken from the Penn Cambria Baseball boosters.

Yeoman is out of prison on unsecured bail. He is facing felony charges of forgery and criminal use of a communication facility.
