Lima Utilities Department assures residents that water is safe to drink
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A letter received by Lima water customers has many consumers concerned. The Lima Utilities Department assures residents that the water is safe to consume. The Environmental Protection Agency requires water departments to report if any levels are higher than the EPA standards found in normal testing of the water. The water department found that there was a slight increase in one specific chemical that can form during the water treatment process.

Spencerville under boil water advisory due to water leaks
SPENCERVILLE — The Village of Spencerville is under a boil water advisory until further notice, according to the village’s Facebook page. The boil water advisory was issued Monday after a “major water leak” was reported in the Eastgate Drive area, a leak that was isolated that same day. That leak, along with an additional water leak in the 400 block of South Pearl Street and other technical difficulties led to the boil water advisory, according to the village’s Facebook page. The village’s pool was also closed Monday due in part to the water leak, as well as due to air temperature.
Boil advisory issued for the village of Spencerville
SPENCERVILLE, OH (WLIO) - The village of Spencerville is on a boil advisory after a water main break. The village said a major water leak occurred overnight and the system to alert someone about the problem didn't go off. So, the leak wasn't noticed until this morning in the area of Eastgate Drive. Village officials say six feet of pipe was replaced and they are working to get the water pressure back up. A boil advisory will be in effect until further notice until EPA testing is done.
