    Man strikes girlfriend, threatens to kill her

    LINCOLN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces charges after striking his girlfriend, threatening to kill her in front of his son.

    On Saturday, August 3, 2024, at approximately 12:25 AM in Lincoln County, Tpr. C.T. Daniels, the reporting officer, received a service call from WYSP Troop 5 Communications regarding a domestic incident at 140 Fourteen Mile Creek Road in Ranger, WY. The officer made contact with a female, referred to as the victim.

    The victim reported that her boyfriend, Garrett Trent, referred to as the accused, had struck her in the face and threatened to kill her if she left, all in front of his six-year-old son. While speaking with the victim, the officer noted bruising and swelling on her face, as well as multiple bruises on her forearms.

    Following the conversation with the victim, the officer proceeded to 140 Fourteen Mile Creek Road to engage with the accused and his son. Upon arrival, the officer entered the residence and found it in a state of disrepair.

    There was rotting food on the counter and kitchen stove, along with the presence of roaches throughout the home. The officer also noticed cigarette butts and trash scattered around, and the toilet contained human waste.

    Additionally, there was crushed pill residue on a couch in what appeared to be the child’s bedroom. The accused faces charges of Domestic Battery, Domestic Assault, and Child Neglect with Risk of Injury.

    This report is based on the investigation conducted by the officer, and the crime occurred in Lincoln County, West Virginia.
