College Football 25 will be on the televisions of gamers soon enough as the game drops this week after a decade-plus wait. One freshman who drew a ton of intrigue as to where he'd be rated is Nebraska's Dylan Raiola. The 5-star passer's rating was revealed ahead of the early release.

Nebraska QB Dyland Raiola College Football 25 Rating Revealed

Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith is ahead of the pack for any freshman in College Football 25, but two quarterbacks are tied at an 80 overall. Raiola earned one of those spots alongside Florida's DJ Lagway . Ohio State's Julian Sayin came in one spot below as a 79.

Raiola was actually quite a bit lower in On3's industry player rankings than both Lagway and Sayin. The Nebraska legacy was the 21st overall player and third-best QB on their board. Lagway was the third-rated player, and Sayin was eighth.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Raiola followed his father's footsteps in going to Nebraska. The sweet-throwing right-hander is the best pure passer I saw in the class, plus he has great size and frame. He was originally committed to Ohio State but opted for comfort.

Pundits have been excited about the Cornhuskers' prospects this fall. With a relatively easy schedule, some have even gone so far as to say they'll start 7-0 until they face Ohio State. I think this is a little optimistic for a program that hasn't seen anywhere near that type of success in years.

However, Nebraska is talented. They added several 3-star talents from top programs around the country and had the fewest departures amongst the 68  Power 4 teams. That type of continuity and the addition of an impact quarterback can go a long way in making a big step forward in 2024.

My guess is Nebraska will become a popular rebuilding team for CFB 25 players, and Raiola's presence for at least three years is a big reason why.
