Imitation is often said to be the sincerest form of flattery, and Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, would likely feel flattered by the recent scenes at the Nebraska football training camp.

Dylan Raiola, a five-star quarterback recruit from Georgia, made an appearance at the Cornhuskers' training camp in Omaha on Tuesday, sporting a look strikingly similar to Mahomes, complete with the haircut, facial hair, sunglasses, and shoes that the three-time Super Bowl champion is known for.

Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins receiver who spent five seasons catching passes from Mahomes in Kansas City, noticed the similarity and made sure to inform his former teammate.

Mahomes himself gave a nod of approval to Raiola's style.

Raiola, vying for the starting quarterback position at Nebraska this fall, not only resembles Mahomes in appearance but also shares a connection through training with Mahomes's trainer, Bobby Stroupe, and by wearing the same number 15 jersey at Nebraska that Mahomes wears in Kansas City.

Ranked as the second-best quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class by 247 Sports, Raiola had received scholarship offers from top schools like Georgia, Alabama, Arizona, and Arizona State before committing to Nebraska. He has a family legacy with the Cornhuskers; his father Dominic played for Nebraska from 1998 to 2000, and his uncle Donovan is currently the team's offensive line coach.

Nebraska is set to kick off its 2024 season on August 31 against UTEP at Memorial Stadium. Whether Raiola secures the starting spot or not, it's a safe bet that he'll arrive in Lincoln channeling the style of his idol, Mahomes.
