New owners for Mod Pizza
Several weeks after the closing of the last Mod Pizza in Montgomery County, the struggling chain has been sold. Mod Pizza is now a division of Elite Restaurant Group, a California firm that already owned a half-dozen other pizza chains. Mod had been teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, closing several dozen locations (including Kentlands) in the months before it went dark at Rockville’s Montrose Crossing. No word yet on what will replace it at this location.
