Thousands of stateliners adapt to days without power
(WIFR) - ComEd crews work to restore power to homeowners across the stateline facing their third day in the dark, but a limited number of hands makes the task difficult. As of Wednesday evening, more than 45,000 people throughout Northern Illinois face the effects of three days of power outages, according to ComEd.

Community leaders and reparations advocates gathered Tuesday afternoon at the 1900 Asbury Ave. headquarters of FirstRepair, where they unveiled a new mural by artist Damon Reed honoring the city’s reparations efforts. FirstRepair is a nonprofit that promotes reparations programs through policy changes in cities across the country. It was founded by former Fifth Ward Council Member Robin Rue Simmons, who led the push for reparations in Evanston during her time on the council. A severe weather system slammed northern Illinois and the Chicago area Monday night, producing severe. thunderstorms, wind gusts of up to 75 mph in some areas, and tornadoes. Warning sirens were heard throughout DuPage County after 9 p.m. As many as 10 tornadoes were reported in the Chicago area Monday night, including one outside O’Hare Airport.
