    Lindley man arrested on weapon charges after search

    LINDLEY, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A Lindley man has been arrested on weapons charges after an incident that occurred last week at a home on Carriage Drive.

    According to New York State Police, troopers from Painted Post were called to the home in the town of Lindley for the report of a distraught man who was wandering around with a loaded gun. Upon investigation, the man was found to have a loaded pump action shotgun.

    Police identified the man as Harry L. Adler II, 42, who they say was previously convicted of a felony and is unable to own firearms, rifles or shotguns. After a search of Adler’s home was performed, police say that several other firearms were found, two of which were determined to be assault weapons.

    Adler was arrested on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor. He had his charges read to him in Steuben County CAP Court and was returned to the jail.

    The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
