Fosters needed after Minneapolis shelter responds to hoarding cases
MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC) is looking for people willing to foster cats or dogs — and these animals' lives depend on it. The Facebook group Friends of MACC posted that the organization impounded 25 cats in a single day in July and anticipates adding another 16 cats due to hoarding cases. New contract gives Minneapolis police officers a 21% raise over 3 years
(Minneapolis, MN) -- Police officers will be getting a 21-percent raise over three years under a new collective bargaining agreement approved today (Thurs) by the Minneapolis City Council. The Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis say the new agreement also includes important reforms. Chief Brian O'Hara says the new contract, " sends a strong message to our officers that city leadership supports good policing and the veteran officers who have been loyal in their service to our residents.” City officials say the salary increase means Minneapolis officers will be among the highest paid in Minnesota by next year.
