$7.4M in federal funding on its way to Maine groups fighting food insecurity
BRUNSWICK, Maine — Maine school districts will soon get a funding boost when it comes to providing healthy, locally grown meals. The nonprofit Full Plates Full Potential was awarded $7.4 million in School Food System Innovation Grants as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative.

Town hires full-time planner
The Harpswell Select Board voted unanimously to hire Matthew James as full-time town planner at its meeting on Thursday, July 11. James, of Bath, recently left a job as Bowdoinham’s code enforcement officer, a role that included working with that town’s Planning Board. He is a graduate student at the University of Maine, pursuing a master’s degree in quaternary and climate studies.
