Youngstown police accuse armed man of stealing cash from store after pulling out gun
Youngstown police are investigating an armed robbery at an Oak Street store that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The suspect allegedly came to the counter pointing a handgun at the attendant and other customers, according to witness reports. The bandit took cash totaling $161.25 out of the register. Youngstown police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning at a Southern Boulevard address. Upon arrival shortly after 12:40 a.m., officers found a person with gunshot wounds. The Girl Scouts of North East Ohio announced Monday that it has received state funding to upgrade two regional Girl Scout camps in Erie and Trumbull counties. The $900,000 in total funding for Camp Timberlane in Wakeman and Camp Sugarbush in Kinsman was included in House Bill 2, the Ohio General Assembly's capital budget. Camp Timberlane will receive $600,000 and Camp Sugarbush, $300,000, for infrastructure and camping improvements.
