Silver Named To Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America First Team
CHICAGO – UNH senior defensive end Josiah Silver (Hampton, Va.) was named to the 2024 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America First Team, it was announced Monday. Silver, who was named to the CAA Preseason All-Conference Team on July 24, will serve as a team captain for the 2024 Wildcats, who begin fall camp on Friday. In 2023, he was tapped to the All-CAA Second Team after notching 43 tackles, including 23 solo stops, while starting all 11 games. The Hampton, Va., native paced the team in tackles for loss (9.5), sacks (five) and quarterback hurries (eight).

Voices of Hope present musical to aid cancer research
ANDOVER — Local not-for-profit Voices of Hope will put on a production of Legally Blonde Jr. in August, with all ticket sales going toward cancer research. Voices of Hope began in 2009 after its founder and president Greg Chastain hosted a one-night show to raise funds for cancer research. Chastain had recently lost his mother to pancreatic cancer and leaned on his theater community during a difficult time.

Keene SwampBats drop doubleheader in Vermont
The SwampBats struggled defensively in both games against the league-best Mountaineers, losing 6-5 and 15-2. With Keene the provisional home team in the rescheduled first game, Vermont took the lead with the first two batters of the game after a walk, a stolen base, and a fielding error on the infield. Charlie Oschell (Virginia) buckled down to strike out all of the next three batters. In the bottom of the first, Jake Koonin (Princeton) drew a two-out walk and stole second.
