    Golf Recaps May 16-20

    Below are summaries of local golf meets between May 16-20, compiled by Sports Editor Nick Tabatt.

    Flyers boys take fourth at the Preserve Golf Course

    The Little Falls Flyers boys took fourth place at a meet at the Preserve Golf Course in Pequot Lakes Thursday, May 16. Ryan Oothoudt finished in fourth, with a 74. Peyton Car followed in 15th (82), Nolan Kray in 22nd (85), Luke Avery in 27th (87), Dawson Carr in 31st (90) and Cullen Moe in 35th (92).

    Flyers girls make all-conference and all-conference honorable mention

    The Little Falls Flyers girls golfers competed at the Granite City Conference golf meet at the Albany Golf Club Monday, May 20. Imagine Hines took fourth with a score of 81 and made all-conference. Olivia Dempsey made all-conference honorable mention, placing 21st (101).

    The Flyers also hosted a meet at the Little Falls Country Club Thursday, May 16. Hines tied for first place (77). Dempsey finished in16th (99).

    Pierz boys take third in Pequot Lakes

    The Pierz Pioneers boys golf team finished in sixth place at the Preserve Golf Course Thursday, May 17, scoring 336. Nathan Cekalla placed 17th, shooting an 83. Jack Prokott came in 25th and scored an 86. Ty Leidenfrost came in 28th (87), Joey Stuckmayer in 32 (90), Braden LeBlanc 44th and Caden Knutson in 45th (99).

    Pierz girls take third in Albany and Little Falls

    The Pierz Pioneers girls golf team took third at the Granite Ridge Conference meet in Albany Monday, May 20. Whitney LeBlanc led the team in sixth place, shooting a 81 and earning all-conference honors. Kari LeBlanc tied for eighth place (88), making all-conference honorable mention. Macey LeBlanc tied for 13th place (91), Melany Virnig in 21st (101), Cameryn Herold in 24th (103) and Tiffany Virnig in 25th (104). The JV team also took first in the meet and finished the season undefeated.

    The Pioneers also took third at the Little Falls Country Club Thursday, May 16. Kari LeBlanc took seventh (90), followed by Whitney LeBlanc in 11th (94). Herold came in 19th (101), Tiffany Virnig in 21st (102), Macy LeBlanc in 25th (103) and Joleen Weyer in 29th (107).

    Royals’ Myrissa Sobiech takes seventh at CMC championships

    The Royalton Royals girls golf team had a freshman place in the top ten at the Central Minnesota Conference Championship in Sauk Centre. Monday, May 20. Myrissa Sobiech took seventh place with a score of 110. The score consisted of a season low of 53 in the back nine holes.

    Royals boys take third at CMC meet in Sauk Centre

    The Royalton Royals boys golf team took third at the Central Minnesota Conference meet in Sauk Centre Monday, May 20. The team scored 345. Zach Schraut led the team, shooting a 77 while Nate Spencer and Matthew Hollenbeck tied at 89. Ben Boyd shot a 90, Wyatt Plumski earned a 69 and Nick Block in 97. The Royals took fourth in the conference for the entire season and were 12 strokes away from third.
