LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A lawsuit filed Tuesday by Attorney General Tim Griffin is not keeping some Arkansans away from foreign-owned online retailer Temu.

Some shoppers in Little Rock say the state’s lawsuit won’t be stopping them from using Temu, noting that the app has too many valuable deals and has become a one-stop shop.

The lawsuit claims that the retailer is illegally trying to access users’ private information, with Griffin calling the Temu app “functionally malware and spyware.”

Stephanie Adcox said the prices on Temu are reliable and are sometimes too good to pass on.

“Sometimes I’m buying stuff I don’t really need but when it’s such a cheap price it’s kind of hard to pass it up,” Adcox said.

Savannah Ogle is another Temu user who said everyone can easily get the bang for their buck using the app.

“It can be useful to people that are lower income,” Ogle said. “You’ll get good quality out of it.”

Heather Wicker said her family uses the app religiously.

“My mom loves it. She is addicted to Temu,” Wicker said. “She shops on there every day.”

She said Temu has become convenient in many ways, and when asked about her thoughts on the lawsuit filed, she said, “All the other websites use personal information as well so I don’t think it will stop anybody from shopping.”

    Other shoppers like Adcox agree.

“It boils down to how much things cost and if it saves people money that’s where they’re going to go,” Adcox said.

Congressional report says there’s an extremely high risk Temu’s supply chains have forced labor

Multiple people said the thought of having their personal information shared is concerning but for now they’ll continue cashing in on their weekly deals.
