83-year-old convicted of killing wife, daughter with ax because he was worried they’d become homeless
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (TCN) -- An elderly man has been found guilty of killing his wife and disabled daughter with an ax and dismembering their bodies with a saw in 2023. The Colorado 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced June 28 that a jury convicted 83-year-old Reginald Maclaren of the first-degree murders of his wife, Bethany Maclaren, and their daughter, Ruth Maclaren, as well as two counts of tampering with a deceased body and false reporting. Reginald Maclaren is expected to be sentenced on July 10 and faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder convictions.

According to a crime poster shared by Metro Denver Crime Stoppers on social media, the robbery happened June 25 at about 10:30 in the morning near the 3500 block of S. Wadsworth Boulevard. Bicyclist killed after vehicle rolls over into center median of I-76
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly rollover crash that left a bicyclist dead early Tuesday morning. The crash happened on I-76 near Sheridan Boulevard northwest of Denver. State troopers rushed to a report of a single-vehicle rollover and car fire in the center median of I-76 about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. When troopers arrived, they found the bicyclist had died at the scene of the crash. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The Colorado State Patrol said that the crash remained under investigation on Tuesday afternoon. No charges had been filed at that time. The identity of the bicyclist who was killed will be released by the Adams County Coroner's Office.
Suspect in fatal shooting outside Denver shelter is identified
DENVER — At least seven people reported witnessing a fatal shooting Monday night outside a Denver Rescue Mission shelter, documents obtained by 9NEWS show. The Denver Police Department said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. outside the shelter in the area of 48th Avenue and Dahlia Street in the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood. Police said two people got into a fight, and one of them shot the other.

Bike stolen outside Walmart returned to 12-year-old boy
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office posted a message on X, announcing that a 12-year-old boy's bike that was stolen by a suspect outside of a Walmart has been returned.Jeffco deputies said the bike was returned to the 12-year-old, named Alex, in perfect condition and thanked the public's help. Investigators said on June 19 around 1:15 p.m., the boy rode his bike to the Walmart located at 13420 Coalmine Ave, to buy fishing tackle when he locked up his bike outside and went inside the store. The suspect went into the store where he stole bolt cutters and used them to steal the bike. Although the bike was returned, deputies are still searching for the suspect. He was described as a white male who was wearing a blue T-shirt with the words COLUMBIA and a logo on the back, blue/black shorts, white tennis shoes with black short socks and a black and white baseball hat with a logo. Anyone with additional information are encouraged by law enforcement to call the tip line at 303-271-5612. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
