Liverpool will take on both Sevilla and Las Palmas at Anfield on Sunday in a bizarre double-header to end pre-season as Arne Slot continues preparations for the new campaign.

The first of those two games is against the renowned Europa League specialists, who will be hoping to throw a spanner in the works with a victory in Merseyside this weekend, having already beaten Fulham this week, when Slot takes charge of his first game in front of the Anfield faithful.

And he'll be hoping his side picks up where it left off in the United States, where it achieved a hattrick of victories against Real Betis ( 1-0 ), Arsenal ( 2-1 ) and Manchester United ( 3-0 ) to get his Reds reign off to a flyer.

    Team news

With the last of Liverpool's Euro 2024 and Copa America contingent returning to first-team training this week, Slot has the pleasure of being able to pick from an almost-fully fit squad this weekend.

With a game later on in the day against slightly weaker opposition in Las Palmas to come, it is expected that a stronger line-up will be fielded against Sevilla, with the likes of Alisson , Trent Alexander-Arnold , Virgil van Dijk and Darwin Nunez expected to be on show.

However, Andy Robertson is yet to make a full recovery a foot injury, while Dominik Szoboszlai was not risked for the Man United clash due to fatigue. Fabio Carvalho is not expected to be involved following reports that he is close to completing a move to Brentford .

As for Sevilla, former Reds winger Suso could take to the turf, along with Euro 2024 winner Jesus Navas. Former Manchester City and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho could also feature, along with fellow new arrival Saul, who has joined on loan from Atletico Madrid.
