Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has confidently predicted that he is "guaranteed" to generate points for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players this season — suggesting that everyone playing the game should select him.

Last year, the Liverpool man was asked why FPL players should pick him for their team. "Because I get the most points almost every season!" he said. "It's true!"

He went on to net 25 goals in all competitions during Jurgen Klopp's final year in charge, with 18 of those coming in the Premier League . Only Ollie Watkins, Phil Foden, Dominic Solanke, Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland scored more.

Last season, only six players scored more FPL points than Salah. They were Watkins, Foden, Palmer, Haaland, Bukayo Saka and Heung-min Son.

Ahead of the new campaign kicking off, he was asked by the Premier League's official website if that was the same this time around. "Hopefully!" he said. "Probably yes. It's guaranteed points so it's easy to pick!"

Salah is set to cost £12.5m in the game. "That's not bad," he added. "It's quite a lot but it's not bad. I don't mind it but I think you can reduce it so everybody can get me! I don't want to be the highest price and then no one can get you."

Liverpool.com says: Salah is showing no signs of slowing down. He has had a really good pre-season and he looks very sharp. He's a safe bet for being near the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts and he should be tied down to a new deal as well.

Sporting director Richard Hughes will need to be busy getting new contracts sorted for Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold as soon as the transfer window closes. For now, he is probably wrapped up with activity as Martin Zubimendi is chased.
