Liverpool has not beaten Manchester United since its famous 7-0 victory at Anfield , with the Reds being left frustrated by their biggest rivals last season. But that can't be continued as the Arne Slot era begins .

Having taken a whopping 87 shots at the Manchester United goal last season with a couple of draws and a defeat to show for it, Liverpool will need to be considerably more ruthless this time around. If Slot can get off the mark against the Old Trafford side at the first attempt, that would be a massive boost.

    What time is kick-off?

The match kicks off at 4pm in the UK, which is 9am Pacific Time and 11am Eastern Time. Early team news

The only Liverpool player set to miss out through injury is Curtis Jones , though it remains to be seen whether or not Federico Chiesa will be involved. Jones has a minor muscle issue and didn't train this week while Chiesa hasn't kicked a ball competitively since the European Championship with Italy and therefore might need to build up his fitness a little more before his debut.

For Manchester United, Manuel Ugarte wasn't signed in time to be registered for the game. Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof are both set to be sidelined while Mason Mount confirmed he was out earlier in the week. Ten Hag is also without Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia at the moment, plus striker Rasmus Hojlund.
