Livingston County Women in Ag meeting set Aug. 6
Join the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District for a Women in Ag Meeting: Ideas Inc. – How to Add Conservation to Your Land. The meeting will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Livingston County Fairgrounds, 18142 4-H Park Road, Pontiac. The meeting will be in the kitchen. Registration and coffee will be at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting starting 30 minutes later. Lunch is provided.
Illinois Extension to present tai chi class in Pontiac
PONTIAC — The University of Illinois Extension will offer a tai chi program next month in Livingston County. Pontiac Family Kitchen known for meals that feel like 'home'. Tai chi is a low-impact form of martial arts and meditation and can help those suffering from arthritis to improve their muscular strength, flexibility and fitness, according to a news release from the Extension. Improving strength and flexibility through tai chi also can help prevent falls. The class will be taught by family life educator Sara Attig.

Pontiac Family Kitchen known for meals that feel like 'home'
PONTIAC — For the past 18 years, Sunny Bekirovski has worked to make the Pontiac Family Kitchen a community staple in Livingston County. Originally from Macedonia, he came to the United States in 2000 for his wife, now Mindy Bekirovski. Her parents, Sheri and Al Jaoski, own Wilmington House Restaurant in Will County, which led Sunny Bekirovski to start working in the hospitality industry.
National Weather Service issues flood watch for Grundy and Will counties
